In this article, we propose an intersatellite cooperation-based early preamble collision detector (ISC-eCD) designed for low Earth orbit satellite-based nonterrestrial network (NTN) Internet of Things random access (RA). ISC-eCD leverages cooperation between the serving and neighboring satellites to enable early preamble collision detection. By exploiting differences in round-trip times of preambles received at these satellites, the ISC-eCD enables accurate preamble collision detection. We also propose a zero-correlation zone design tailored to NTN RA that increases the number of available preambles and reduces preamble collisions without using additional root sequences. Extensive simulations demonstrate that the ISC-eCD outperforms existing methods, achieving reduced RA delay, enhanced collision detection accuracy, improved physical uplink shared channel resource efficiency, and an increased number of successful RA nodes.
